Medieval workshops
Yes, it was long ago, the gloomy Middle Ages. Gloomy? Not quite! It was the time of travelling performers, large markets, roaring farmer weddings, proud knights and serenading bards. The air is buzzing with cries, music, the smoke of wood fires and the smell of the meals simmering in the copper pot, substantial and savoury. Why just talk about it? Let us live it! The feel of the warm leather of the home made peasant’s sandals on your bare feet, the first bite into a fresh loaf of bread baked over an open fire, the first taste of a good brew and a look into our stew to see what nature has provided us. Or go to a medieval stonemason’s lodge to follow the stone-cutter’s honourable trade and hammer out the craziest sculptures from Ytong chalkstone. A Gothic, demonic water spout perhaps? Tin will serve us like it did in that time to create decorative jewellery.
