Sustainability

It is the predominant theme of our society in a time in which the consequences of our – often thoughtless – way of life to date is cause for more and more worry.  As a youth organisation, we feel a special duty to the coming generation.  For that reason, we’re making sure that, in many small steps, we get ever closer to our goal of making the castle truly sustainable.  And that’s not just a matter of reducing our energy use, switching, as far as possible, to carbon-neutral energy suppliers, and food which is responsibly produced, transported, and stored. It’s also about social responsibility, about fair dealing with the producers, and the preservation not just of their ecological, but their economic, existence, both locally and globally!  We’re on the way to this great goal: we’re part way there, and soon to be closer, but it’s a long road.
