Scouts and Guides
Castle Rieneck is the national centre of the Association of Christan Guides and Scouts (VCP). Many volunteers work at or with the Castle, in the castellans, the trustee group (Bildungs- und Erholungswerk Burg Rieneck e.V.) or in the Friends of Castle Rieneck.
Accommodation
The Castle offers various accommodation possibilities: the campsite, mattress ‘crash space’, rooms – there’s something to suite every wallet. The mattress accommodation is only available for one or two nights – perfect for a stop-off on a hike (meals must be taken from the Castle).
Activity programme
Whether you’re planning to hike for several days, or just walk for a few hours, the Programme Office can help. An electronic treasure hunt with GPS offers a fun way to explore the area. Or the catapult activity combines knots and pioneering activities with a mediaeval theme.
If you’re planning a promise ceremony as part of your stay, why not hold it in the Thick Tower?
The “Lion’s Den” campfire site is the perfect site for enthusiastic singing – and you can borrow guitars and the Castle’s exclusive songbook. Or if you want to get crafty, our workshops are at your disposal.
Tips
During the summer, we offer you the chance to work in our international team, as part of the European Scout Voluntary Programme.
The VCP website will tell you when the next national VCP event will take place at the castle.
