The entrance of the boat rental Saaleinsel can be reached from the castle walk (7km), by bus or train. Right next to the boat rental is the mini-golf course and a public swimming pool.

If you would like to organise a day tour by yourself you are welcome to do this. It is recommended that you should be comfortable with the German public transport system and comfortable canoeing/kayaking in rough water. Saaleinsel also runs a boat shuttle to transport the boats down the river to the tour starting point. Prices are not fixed so you will need to contact the company to agree on this.
